Hello world! I’m Amp, and this is my blog.

Until recently, I thought that skin care equalled splash face with hot water, scrub dry with towel. My sister caught me doing this the last time she visited and, after bawling a horrified “WHAT THE EFF IS WRONG WITH YOU,” gave me a hasty education on skin care basics. Even though I had to ask her a series of increasingly stupid questions (cleansers: HOW DO THEY WORK), my sister answered them all with minimal laughter.

Shamed about my beauty routine, I scurried out to the nearest Sephora and bought a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. My grumpy skin promptly became itchy and red, and subsequent calls to my sister were met with a resounding “ONE AT A TIME, DUMMY!” I was educated on patch testing, and it was integrated into my shiny new routine.

I became more interested in skin care and soon I was at my laptop doing my own research. I quickly added an exfoliator to my routine, as well as retinol. My skin, done with Itchfest 2014, started to clear. Hormonal acne that plagued me since my teenage years minimized, and my skin started to glow.

Bouncing between Paula’s Choice and Reddit, I built a beauty routine that worked for my dry skin. Now, I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of Asian Beauty and find myself incorporating Asian products into my routine.

This blog is a place for me to share my experiences with products I have bought all the while learning about skin care and posting photos of my greyhound, Blue.
