Remember how I told you that I only recently figured out what a sheet mask was? Well, between then and now I’ve turned into some sort of sheet mask fiend. I tried one, and then another, and then another—now, I find myself masking once, sometimes twice, a day! Then, the Face Shop had a buy 10 get 5 free sale and I went crazy. I bought every single type of mask they had. Every. Single. Type. Now I’m up to my butt in sheet masks, so what do I do? Review them all, that’s what!

Ingredient Spotlight:
Sambucus nigra (Elderberry) Flower Water: Elderberry is credited as an emollient especially beneficial in treating dry skin. It also acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and its fruit is high in vitamin C.
Assessment:
Appearance: The Face Shop MasCream Sheet comes in a tear open pouch. The mask is covered in a thick clear essence. It has a pleasant floral scent.
Essence: Holy essence, Batman! This mask sheet (sorry, mascream) comes with a whopping amount of essence. When the mask is removed from the pouch, it leaves behind enough to cover your face, neck, and arms.
Fit: The fit of this mask is much better than the regular The Face Shop Real Nature sheet masks. I don’t know if it’s the cut of the mask itself or the creamy essence, but it adhered better to my face and I didn’t have to make any cuts. Plus, it has staying power. I ran down a flight of stairs and answered the door (looking like a serial killer I might add, sorry Canada Post lady!) and the mask stayed put.
Effect: It’s moisturizing! And I mean moisturizing. When 30 minutes was up, I pulled this mask off my face and patted in the remaining cream essence. Then, I smoothed the leftovers from the pouch onto my neck and arms. The cream didn’t feel sticky or tacky. It left my skin feeling plump, soft, and supple. Seriously, I used this mask around suppertime and the next morning my skin still felt moisturized and soft. Here are the before and after pics:
Conclusion:
I enjoyed using this mask, and I thought that the cream essence was a nice idea for dry skin like mine. It certainly made my skin soft and supple, and the effected lasted a long time. At $5 per sheet, however, I think I’ll be saving mine for special occasions.
TL;DR:
- moisturizing
- did I mention moisturizing?
- makes skin soft and supple
- expensive at $5 per sheet
- good fit
Score: 4.5/5
