Here is another entry in my series of The Face Shop sheet masks after I went nuts bought each kind of sheet mask in their Real Nature line. I have heard before (read: at Booster Juice) that acai is an antioxidant so when I saw that I had an acai sheet mask I had to give it a try!
From the Face Shop website:
This Acai Berry Face Mask offers you soft, firm skin in no time! As a powerful antioxidant, acai has toning and invigorating properties that are perfect for tired skin.

You can view the CosDNA analysis of the ingredients here.
- What exactly is an antioxidant? An antioxidant is a chemical substance that neutralizes free radicals in the skin. Free radicals are responsible for damage to DNA and other cell components, which may cause signs of aging. Antioxidants help prevent this damage by reacting with the free radicals before they have a chance to act on cellular structures.
Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract: Antioxidant, helps promote skin repair. Acts to soften the skin.
Phaseolus Radiatus Extract: Mung bean is used to condition the skin and has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Betula Platyphylla Japonica (Japanese White Birch) Bark Extract: The Japanese White Birch is another skin conditioning agent and antioxidant. Historically, it was used to treat rheumatism.
Rumex Crispus (Yellow Dock) Root Extract: Yellow dock is an antioxidant.
Appearance: This mask came in a standard tear open pouch. It smelled like berries and herbs.
Essence: This mask was SOAKED in essence. It dripped everywhere as I tried to get it out of the pouch and onto my face. There was quite a bit leftover, enough for me to pat into my face and neck and arms.
Fit: As I learned from my previous experience with this line of sheet masks, the fit is not so great on my face. This time I managed to make a few extra cuts with a pair of scissors on the chin and nose, and it improved the fit dramatically.
Effect: I really enjoyed using this mask. I decided to have some relaxation time, so I put on this mask and lay on the couch. I guess relaxation time was a bit too relaxing, because I fell asleep with the mask on. When I woke up an hour later, the mask was almost completely dry and my skin was soft and plumped. It didn’t feel sticky or tacky either.
I like this mask a lot. It refreshed my skin when I was tired and left it feeling soft and plumped. I did have to perform some arts and crafts to make it fit a little better, but that is a minor complaint. I would repurchase this mask for sure.
- packed full of antioxidants
- leaves skin soft and smooth
- essence not sticky or tacky
- good fit requires additional cuts in mask
